Tracy Griffith, CEC Chef • Tracy Griffith began as a model and an actress in New York and Los Angeles working in print, television and film. Acting credits include feature films "The Good Mother" with Diane Keaton; Rob Lowe in "The Finest Hour;" and "Crazy in Alabama" with her sister Melanie Griffith. She starred with Teri Hatcher in “All Tied Up”. For television, she played “Ruby” William Devane’s daughter on the ABC series “The Monroe’s” and Johnny Depp’s girlfriend on” 21 Jump Street.” • 2000- She became the first female graduate of the California Sushi Academy, garnering national media attention (People, USA Today, Sante, Hello!) as one of the world’s few certified female sushi chefs. Hired at Tsunami’s, the trendy Beverly Hills restaurant on Beverly Drive. Known as the “sushi chef to the stars” and developed her signature “sushi American style” . • 2000- 2004 When not behind the sushi bar- she was the TV chef/host of “Cooking with D.I.Y.” for The Do-It-Yourself Network she demonstrated a season of cooking techniques with recipes ranging from fondue to sushi. As chef for “Bertolli Presents” she cooked with olive oil on 6 episodes for FoodTV.net. She was the chef/host of ”D.I.Y. Holidays” where she demonstrated festive cooking for the holidays. In “Celebrity Dish” she hosted recipe demonstrations with the private chefs of celebrities. As the host of “Celebrity Hobbies” she motorcycled with Fabio and made wine with Mario Andretti. Exploring the girl-friend getaway, she was the co-host of “Chick Trips”. • In 2004, she took time out from restaurant life and to write and promote her first cookbook, Sushi American Style. (Clarkson-Potter). She enjoyed national media attention in Nations Restaurant News, Santé, US Weekly, In-Touch, People and appeared on The View, Dennis Miller and The Today Show as a result. • In 2004, she was partner and sushi chef at Rika’s on Sunset in Hollywood that featured an extensive sushi menu devoted to her Sushi American Style creations. • In 2006, Tracy moved to Napa, CA was the consulting chef to the nationally acclaimed Napa restaurant- BarBersQ- that features artisan and local products from around the Napa Valley. • As a singer/songwriter, released her first country music CD entitled “Red” • 2007-2008- Recipe research and development for the LL Bean Company for their line of prepared lobster chowders for QVC. She collaborated with marketing agencies to bring culinary creativity from product concept to launch. She transitioned products from the kitchen to bench top and continued to provide support through product evaluation until launch. • In July of 2007, she was inducted as an honorary member into The American Culinary Federation and The American Academy of Chefs. • In February 2008, she was inducted as a member of Les Amis D’Escoffier Society. She is also a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier Society, Carmel, CA. • 2008-2010- She launched her “Sushi American Style” brand concept to Dean & Deluca nationally and internationally. • 2008 –Named Corporate Executive Chef for New Gem Foods Company responsible for recipe development, product promotion at live events, TV appearances. • 2010 to present - She develops menus items for restaurants, schools and resorts in the USA and Asia. She also conducts sushi cooking classes and guest chef dinners at luxury destinations including: Crystal Cruises, Six Senses Resorts, The Ritz Carlton, The Four Seasons, Dean & Deluca, Whole Foods Markets, The Home Shopping Network, Good Food UK, The Food Network, Scripps Network, ABC Network, the Culinary Institute of America and the Ralph Lauren Corp.
