Growing up in The suburbs of Detroit, Chef Graham didn’t know until his eighteenth year that his path would lead him to a career in food. Originally his love of music brought him to Boston, Massachusetts in 2001, but it was there that he discovered his true calling and passion in cooking. During his younger years in Boston Chef Graham immersed himself in the abundance of food culture around him. This included holding positions at various and diverse venues, such as Hi-Rise Bread Company (Baker, 2005), Le Soir Bistro (Entremettier, 2006) and a long tenure alongside Chef and cookbook author Didi Emmons at the award winning vegetarian eatery, Veggie Planet (Lead Cook, 2001-2004). His first “big break” came in 2007 when his hard work ethic, pleasant demeanor and organized fashion helped him in revitalizing the pastry program at one of Boston’s premier dining destinations, Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks. Serving as the Executive Pastry Chef for three years in this high paced and ultra respected venue helped Graham to hone his skills and create delicacies on the sweeter side. Testament to this is his now infamous Butterscotch Bread Pudding remaining on the menu six years later. His passion for food and desire to continuously learn and grow saw Chef Graham spend a week in 2009 studying and working alongside world renowned pastry chef Francois Payard at his flagship Manhattan pastry shop, Payard Patisserie. Upon leaving Eastern Standard, the next few years saw Chef Graham hold various positions in Boston’s food scene including stints as the Executive Chef at CODA Bar and Kitchen (Boston,MA) and Bon Savor Bistro(Jamaica Plain, MA.) The desire to escape the hustle and bustle of big city living saw Chef Graham return to his roots and the state of Michigan in 2012. After a brief stint as the opening Executive Sous Chef for the legendary Morels Bistro, chef Graham turned a new page and started Your Gourmet in late 2012. Your Gourmet was born out of a desire to connect his customers closer to local and sustainable food sources. During the summer months you’ll often find chef Graham perusing one of the many local farmers markets in search of the freshest quality ingredients. This new venture has also allowed him to spend more time on one of his many other passions; gardening. Your Gourmet’s clients are the largest benefactor of this as chef Graham often cooks with his own home grown herbs and edibles. This indulgence in unadulterated foodstuffs and locally grown and sourced products provides an unbridled connection to the farmers, growers and most importantly the land.
