Denise is a classically Trained Red Seal Chef who also specializes as a Pastry Chef. She received her training from Calgary, Alberta, Canada at SAIT. She has worked in the food industry for the last 10+ years in a variety of settings, including the well renowned Calgary Golf and Country Club. Denise would be delighted to answer your cooking and baking questions, including gluten free and other dietary restrictions that you might have. She is currently working teaching classes, writing cookbooks and newsletters, and developing recipes (including gluten free, grain free and dairy free recipes). Denise has a passion to share her experience by teaching. She also has quite a bit of fun writing for her food blog - Urb'n'Spice, www.urbnspice.com, where she writes about what she is cooking and baking, including market inspiration, new foods, trends and techniques she is interested in sharing. Using her background as a chef and pastry chef, Denise also enjoys creating Urb'n'Spice artisan confitures and chutneys using local produce . Denise lives in Kelowna in beautiful British Columbia, Canada where she loves being surrounded by excellent wineries and wonderful Farmers Markets in the beautiful Okanagan.
